ome of the mineral specimens on this page are rather unusual.
Although Quartz and Prehnite are the main minerals with which The Brandberg is associated, there has also been Epidote, Calcite and the occasional Siderite specimen, found in the area.
The Epidote tends to be a very dark green, almost black, and forms in much the same way as the Prehnite. In The Brandberg specimens, one usually finds it associated with clusters of Quartz and Prehnite, although we have come across a few Quartz crystals coated with blades of Epidote.
Epidote is a grounding mineral which makes one feel secure and confident in one's identity and abilities. It also stabilizes and balances the emotions.
Brandberg Calcites also tend to be found mainly in clusters with Quartz, Prehnite or Siderite.
Calcite can occur in many colours, each with their own specific metaphysical properties. In The Brandberg specimens, the Calcite is usually clear, white or grey in colour.
Calcite generally helps to move energy in blocked areas so negativity is exposed and can be released. It brings light.
It is a wonderful stone for healers to use while working as it helps strengthen the energy connection between the healer and the "patient".
We have only found Siderite at this location on one occasion, and have very few specimens in stock. These are very special pieces. The Siderite has formed yellowish-tan rhombohedral crystals and occurs with botryoidal Calcite.
Siderite is very helpful in aligning the chakras and the bodies. It brings a positive aspect to any situation.
