graphic Tsumeb

Thishis lead ore occurs in the oxidized zone of lead veins. Tsumeb, although primarily a Copper mine, had a strong presence of lead. Cerussite was a relatively commonly found mineral. Large, undamaged specimens are rare.

There were some spectacular specimens found at the Tsumeb Mine. Crystal habits vary greatly, and include prismatic, tabular, reticulated, honey-comb and pseudo-hexagonal star-like crystals.

Associated minerals include Smithsonite, Dolomite, Malachite, Calcite, Mottramite, Galena, Native Copper and Dioptase.
