he Berg Aukas Descloizites are world famous. This mine has produced some of the finest specimens known. Most of the Descloizite in this section is from this mine.
Descloizite from Berg Aukas occured in a wide variety of crystal habits. These include spear-shaped crystals, dendritic, semi-tabular, and cubic forms. Some of the Descloizite specimens are translucent, when the crystals are thin. This is characteristic of the Berg Aukas specimens.
Descloizite most often occurs on its own, but is occasionally associated with either Calcite or Smithsonite. Dolomite associations are more common.
Although some Decloizite was also found at Tsumeb, it was not a commonly found mineral.
